KRT OUTREACH & MISSIONS

At KRT, we are partnering with local churches across the world to reach people far from God and teach them how to follow Jesus step by step. We are a missional church dedicated to partnering with others for a greater reach and purpose; both locally and internationally.

Everything Jesus said was important...He never wasted words! For many people the Great Commission has actually become the Great Omission. After His resurrection, Jesus told his followers that they would be His witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth (Acts 1:8).

it's time to be a witness

Jesus was telling us to start at home with the people closest to us in our city and community. Judea and Samaria represent nearby counties, even when there are cultural and racial differences. Finally, He said to go to the ends of the earth...to go and reach everybody else. It is interesting to note what He called us: his witnesses. We are not to be a defense attorney, prosecutor, or salesman. All God wants us to do is to be a witness. A witness is somebody who just tells what they have seen and experienced. Nobody can be a better witness of what God has done in your life than you. God wants you to tell other people what's happened to you, and we need to go all over to do it!

let the truth ring loud and clear

The truth of Scripture needs to ring loud and clear in our ears. Ephesians 5:1,2 says, “Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are his dear children. Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us and offered himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God.”

If we are to be a church that is effective in this community we need to imitate Jesus in everything we do. In Breaking the Missional Code by Ed Stetzer and David Putman they write on numerous occasions that we need to live like Jesus lived, love like Jesus loved, and leave behind what Jesus left behind. “The world isn’t interested in Christianity because we Christians aren’t known as people who live what we say. Until we move beyond superficial faith, we will not experience supernatural living” (p.77).

imitate jesus everywhere you go

Craig Gross and J.R. Mahon in their book Starving Jesus say it this way, “It's one thing to proclaim Christ on Sunday morning; it's another to get wrapped up in your next-door neighbour's life on any given day and ask about his or her faith” (p. 33). “We don't see a lot of love or compassion, and rarely do we read about the church reaching into the human gutter of sin and pulling people out” (p. 15).

In order to do this the church needs to become missional. Leonard Sweet puts it this way in The Gospel According to Starbucks, “This is what missional means: Participate in the mission of Jesus in the world, to incarnate in the experiences of our lives and our communities the good news of God’s love for the world. The G.O.O.D. church – get out of doors” (p. 82)

The call of God is to imitate Jesus in your homes, neighbourhoods, workplaces, schools… you fill in the rest.

will you go?

The most amazing part about God's plan is that he chose us to complete his mission. Jesus got the plan started 2000 years ago, and He wants us to finish it! God has put the future of world in our hands...there is no plan "B". He is calling us to be history makers! Will YOU Go?
